Overview

Estate Coffee Company has a clean and modern interior design accentuated by a few comfortable seats and a dark wooden counter and bar serving carefully made coffee and espresso. This place has been included in several checklists of the best places to go for coffee owing to its friendly baristas, attention to detail, and cleanliness.

My Review

Whenever entering Estate Coffee Company, one immediately gets the sense of a friendly environment. It’s not particularly fancy but is very welcoming and comfortable–just has that cozy, slightly professional feel that would be good for studying or getting some work done. The people in the store are serious about coffee making; you can tell this from the way the baristas do it.

That was nice, slightly sour, and had even amounts of sweetness, with a rather enjoyable taste in the mouth after we swallowed. For adventurous people, don’t hesitate to taste their special themed coffees – available per season. It was our first time here, so don’t forget to order their pastries, which are best suited for their coffee.

Overview

What’s Brewing Coffee Roasters is a longtime, family-owned gourmet coffee provider offering special roasted-to-order beans and blends. This place is the best for everyone who takes coffee seriously and wants to taste coffee made with love and attention to detail.

My Review

The first thing one will likely notice about What’s Brewing is that it truly looks like a coffee enthusiast’s dream store. The flavorful smell of roasted beans accompanies you at the door and assures a very special coffee. If there is one thing that is proud of here, then it is the beans, which they lovingly roast to ensure that all blends capture the essence of the origin.

Their house blend was especially enjoyable, as it offered a rich, velvety cup that was mildly smoky with undertones of chocolate and almond. You also should not miss their cold brew—it is light and refreshing while serving quite a strong coffee taste. It features an impressive and experienced team of baristas who love discussing the latest roast batches or brewing process. Anyone from a beginner or a first-time coffee drinker to a connoisseur of the beverage would find something interesting at the What’s Brewing Coffee Roasters.

Merit Coffee

Overview

Today, Merit Coffee has six outlets within San Antonio only and has become the choice of many. As a chain of coffee shops, it specializes in high-quality beans and great coffee, which adequately defines the quality coffee shop experience.

My Review

Merit coffee roasting is among the highlights of the San Antonio coffee landscape for all the right reasons. Every single place is operated to the highest possible standard, thus leaving the customer assured that regardless of where they go, they will get a great cup of coffee. The atmosphere of each shop is informal yet quite homely, which makes it a great place to go with friends or to relax and read a book alone.

Their pour-over coffee is one of their specialities; every cup reflects the best of their sourced speciality coffee beans. The young people behind the counter are courteous and knowledgeable and do not mind helping with menu suggestions based on your personality. I also enjoy their iced lattes even during the hot summer seasons due to the scorching heat of Texas. Merit Coffee does not disappoint both in terms of the quality of the coffee and the environment it presents to the consumer, which makes it ideal for coffee lovers.

Indy Coffee Co.

Overview

Indy Coffee Co. is a coffee shop that is part of the speciality coffee and espresso bar where customers can get different baked products and other delicacies. It is well-known for its inventive approach to coffee and tea offerings and its chic environment, which is probably why it has instantly become legendary among the inhabitants of the area.

My Review

Indy Coffee Co. is where creativity meets coffee. As soon as one steps inside, the smooth ambience hits you from the modern interior design that is sleek yet warm and welcoming. This is a place where you cannot be very narrow-minded when you order your coffee.

Their menu offers unique twists to popular coffee varieties that are uncommon to customers. The last one that I ordered was the lavender honey latte. It was smooth, sweet-smelling, and tasted fantastic. The range of pastries is equally impressive, and you will find both sweet and savoury dishes. Specifically, their staff is friendly and has immense love for their job, which is reflected in the cups made. But if you fancy something different with your coffee, then Indy Coffee Co is more than your ordinary coffee shop.

Barrio Barista

Overview

Barrio Barista is a neighbourhood café that roasts its beans in the morning and serves them hot. This place has quite colourful furnishings and the specific smell of the coffee roasted there. It also has a quite diverse menu for breakfast and lunch.

My Review

It is literally called Barrio Barista and is much more than what we understand as a coffee shop. From the steps leading up to the entrance, one is welcomed by the scent of roasted beans. The interior is rather plain but cheerful at the same time, which makes Homely Bar & Kitchen a great place to relax and have a few drinks with friends.

This is a place where freshly roasted coffee is prepared, which forms the anchor product of the business. I ordered their espresso, and it tasted terrific. It was definitely neither bland nor dull but aromatic, flavourful, and invigorating. They also serve a delicious breakfast and lunch, and one must try their chorizo and egg tacos. Friendly staff and a spirited environment lead to the fact that you would not be in a hurry to leave from Barrio Barista. San Antonio’s coffee culture is well-served by this place, which deserves to be called a gem of the city.

Theory Coffee Company

Overview

Coffee Theory is one of the most famous coffee shops in San Antonio. This local bar boasts of brewing its own beers prepared from locally bought roasted coffee beans. Their extensive menu includes all the traditional espresso-based drinks and more interesting and unique seasonal options. They also sell various types of teas and mouth-watering pastries, making it ideal to grab a quick breakfast or have tea and sweets during the mid-morning coffee break.

My Review

The entrance to Theory Coffee Company is a confirmation of what is commonly said, that good things come in small packages. The smoky scent of the coffee brewing hits the senses from the word go, as you are in store for a delightful taste. Their latte, specifically, which I tried, was remarkable, and that is why I turned into a regular customer: rich, velvety, and perfectly balanced. The staff who work behind the counter and prepare the drinks here are not simply ‘cup fillers’ but artists in their own right.

The pastries were equally impressive, with the croissants being a standout—flaky, buttery, and utterly delicious. This is a place where the love for coffee is evident in every cup, and it’s no wonder it’s a local favourite.

Graves Coffee is a local coffee roaster which has recently started to attract the attention of coffee lovers for its special offering of coffee brews and the cosy ambience inside the house. The Café has its own stock of teas and delicious pastries to such an extent that everyone may find what they would like. Graves stands out in its desire to provide friendly and helpful service and ensure that all customers enjoy their time there.

My Review

Graves Coffee is easily recognizable as a local cafe with a warm atmosphere and a homely interior. As soon as I entered, I was introduced with a smile associated with real interest in my choice of coffee. The house blend pour-over is one I ordered, and it was an excellent representation of their roasting- silky, rich, and had this subtle cocoa finish I liked.

This is especially better for reading books or other materials, as well as for having a conversation with friends. You cannot leave without having their pastries. It had the almond scone and was the best I ever tasted. Graves is the type of establishment where a customer feels more than comfortable, and the efforts towards food quality and service are obvious.

Having live music in the evenings not only enriches the space and creates a new atmosphere, turning the place into an appealing venue for gatherings.

The beverage selection for lunch is equally satisfying. I tried a turkey avocado sandwich, which was quite delicious and filled with freshness. Folklores is a coffee shop known for its amazing dishes and for showcasing San Antonio’s culture, which makes it a must-visit place.

Greenhouse

Overview

One of the restaurants in London that can satisfy a coffee lover’s desire is Greenhouse Restaurant, which is located in a greenhouse. These environmental conditions offer a serene background and the perfect platform for enjoying a cup of coffee. The restaurant has a number of coffee beverages, types of tea and variations, pastries, and small meals designed to satisfy most palates.

My Review

Greenhouse is the fresh air it brings in, not just in its literal sense but in a figurative one as well. Located next to plants, the atmosphere of the place is quite calming and relaxing, hence making it the best place for a coffee break. I could only taste matcha in the flavour, which was quite a bit bitter but in a good and refreshing way. The greenhouse’s interior is unlike any other as it offers the occupants an opportunity to escape the tedious challenges of life. As natural light filters through the plants, the room is rather serene, which makes it ideal for relaxation or doing paperwork.

I was impressed with their variety of meals, and I liked the avocado toast. Although it is a bit off the beaten track, Greenhouse can be described as a perfect fusion of a natural environment and a coffee lovers’ paradise.
